On 31 March 2026, the BBioNets team had the pleasure of taking part in the conference “Bioeconomy 2030+ – from roadmap to implementation” which was held in Puławy and co-organised by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) and the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (IUNG).
The event gathered over 130 participants representing business, academia, public administration, and industry, reflecting a strong bottom-up engagement across sectors in shaping the future of circular bioeconomy in Poland.
Conference Sessions
The conference focused on key directions emerging from the new European Bioeconomy Strategy, underlining the growing importance of the bioeconomy in strengthening economic resilience, ensuring resource security, and supporting the climate transition. Speakers discussed Poland’s potential in developing the circular bioeconomy, emphasising also the importance of international cooperation.
Two discussion panels attracted particular interest:
Panellists shared practical insights into both the challenges and opportunities facing the bioeconomy, highlighting the significance of cross-sector collaboration.

One of the key points on the agenda was the proposal of launching the Roadmap for the Development of the Circular Bioeconomy in Poland, developed collaboratively by stakeholders. Such document would outline the trends, technologies, and investments expected to drive the sector in the coming years and strengthen Poland’s competitive advantage based on its natural resources.
The conference featured a pitching session presenting a range of innovative solutions developed by entrepreneurs – covering topics from biotechnology and biomass processing to advancements in the food sector and green chemistry. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in business matchmaking and networking: connecting with companies, research institutes, universities, and start-ups for potential collaboration and joint projects.
A CBE JU National Information Day was organised as a joint event, which provided valuable guidance on upcoming 2026 funding priorities, offering useful tools and practical advice on how to engage in European innovation initiatives and build competitive consortia.
BBioNets Knowledge Platform
During the conference, a separate session was dedicated to vising the poster and pilot project zone, presenting a range of initiatives promoting circular bioeconomy and development of bio-based solutions, as well as implementations already transforming the sector. Among them, BBioNets presented the Online Knowledge Platform – a free online repository created in the framework of the BBioNets project.

The Platform integrates all the project results relevant to stakeholders, including the analysis of the regions represented in the project, a catalogue of Bio-Based Technologies developed for and by primary producers, a free online tool for their assessment, and educational materials designed to facilitate their implementation – all combined within one digital ecosystem providing an actionable guidance for users interested in circular bioeconomy solutions.
Overall, the conference provided a comprehensive platform for exchanging knowledge, building partnerships, and advancing the implementation of a circular bioeconomy in Poland.
