On 22 August 2025, HUB-CR held BBioNets’ third Czech Info-Day during the Trade Fair “Země živitelka” in České Budějovice, bringing together approximately 70 participants from across the agricultural, research, advisory, and policy sectors. Organised under the BBioNets project, the session provided a dynamic platform for discussing the adoption of Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs) in the Czech Republic.

The event was designed as an interactive, collective discussion, reflecting BBioNets’ core approach of fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders. Participants jointly explored key challenges related to BBT uptake, including high investment costs, technical complexity, and limited long-term impact of Operational Groups (OGs). A particularly important issue highlighted was land tenure: with most farmers operating on rented land and lacking long-term security, there is reduced willingness to invest in innovative technologies.

Despite these barriers, the discussion also identified practical solutions strongly aligned with the BBioNets framework. Demonstration farms and peer-to-peer learning were emphasised as effective tools for building trust and encouraging adoption. Participants also underlined the need to better integrate OG results into advisory systems, digital platforms, and broader knowledge networks to ensure continuity beyond project lifetimes.

The session reinforced BBioNets’ role as a facilitator of cross-regional learning and systemic innovation. By bringing together diverse perspectives in an open dialogue, the event contributed to a deeper understanding of both European-wide and country-specific challenges, while highlighting concrete pathways to scale up bio-based solutions in practice.
