On 30th-31st January 2025, BBioNets partner CREA participated in the 8th meeting of the Local Food Policies Network (Rete Italiana Politiche Locali del Cibo) in Turin, Italy. The event, organised by the Rete Italiana Locale Politiche del Cibo in collaboration with the University of Turin, served as a dynamic platform for in-depth discussions on critical topics, including the fight against food waste, ensuring equitable food access, and improving the governance of food policies. It brought together experts, researchers, institutional representatives, and civil society actors, fostering meaningful exchanges and collaboration.
During the event, the BBioNets project was showcased, with CREA highlighting its objectives, the complementary expertise of its consortium partners, and methodologies applied. Special attention was given to the innovative Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs) implemented by the Operational Groups (OGs) of the Italian Forest and Agriculture Network (FAN) area. A discussion followed, exploring the potential impact of BBioNets and the policy recommendations it could generate to support sustainable practices.
