We are excited to invite you to join the Irish Forestry and Agricultural Network (FAN), a community of experts shaping the future of Ireland’s bioeconomy. Are you interested in sustainable practices and working in agriculture or forestry in Ireland? The FAN may be the community for you, where your expert knowledge will provide unique insights facilitating collaboration, knowledge sharing, and addressing the sector’s evolving needs. As a member, you will have access to cutting-edge research, industry insights, and networking opportunities with peers across Ireland.

To date, FAN members have been collaborating to identify the key biomass resources and processing needs in Ireland working towards a more circular bioeconomy. The processing needs identified in Ireland included a greater number of AD plants and incinerators for wood by-product ashes generation, and making processes more circular with regionally funded shared technology and infrastructure. Key resources in the region included cattle slurry, pig & poultry manure, timber felling waste, digestate from AD plants, dairy and brewer’s sludges and straw, along with other industries such as horticultural by-products.

By joining the Irish FAN, you’ll contribute to sustainable practices and the valorisation of biomass resources in Irish agriculture and forestry, ensuring a stronger bioeconomy to safeguard the sector’s future.
