Munster Technological University is a university based in South-West Ireland, formed in 2021 through the merger of Institute of Technology, Tralee, and Cork Institute of Technology. The main participant on the project is the Circular Bioecoomy Research Group (CircBio) who are a leading national and European research group in the domain of circular bioeconomy, participating on high profile projects and educational initiatives. The multidisciplinary group participate on projects ranging from biorefinery demonstration, supply chain analysis, environmental and economic sustainability analysis, sustainable food systems and many more. They are also involved in education, leading Ireland’s first master’s degree in Bioeconomy, alongside University College Dublin. The research group is also home to the Circular Bioeconomy Cluster South-West with a membership of over 50 SME’s working on bioeconomy activity.

Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of the Agricultural Economy (Italy)

CREA is the leading Italian research organization dedicated to the agri-food supply chains. It operates as a legal entity under public law, and is supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (Masaf).
CREA foresees 12 research centres (6 related to specific supply chains and 6 dedicated to horizontal topics) which are forming a capillary network of structures throughout the country. It employs over 2000 people, half of whom are esearchers and technologists. AGRICULTURAL POLICIES AND BIOECONOMY CENTER develops cognitive and interpretative analysis of economic and social dynamics related to the agrifood, forestry and fish sectors. It carries out surveys on the features and evolution of rural areas and the respective competitive factors. It provides support in the processing of sectorial policies, monitoring their evolution and assessing the eects on the systems. It represents the reference for CREA in terms of creation of sectorial data banks within the national statistical system.

Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation (Poland)

The Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute (IUNG-PIB) is the largest and oldest research & development centre in Poland, conducting a broad range of research activities comprising crop production, soil science and fertilisation, bioeconomy development and geomatics, as well as recognition and protection of agricultural areas against various forms of degradation. The research conducted at IUNG supports activities of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, local government and administrative authorities, agricultural advisory services, farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs. The educational oer of the Institute includes a PhD School, post-graduate and doctoral studies, trainings for agricultural advisors and supplementary courses.

IUNG is also active in the international arena, collaborating with other recognized research units in Europe (over 25 completed research projects in the framework of FP5, FP6, FP7, H2020). Currently focuses on new challenges that include: smart farming for resilient and sustainable agriculture; ensuring self-suciency and food security through biological and technological progress; rational use of natural resources; mitigation of adverse climatic conditions; development of bioeconomy and circular economy; implementation of satellite remote sensing for non-invasive monitoring of agricultural areas, and increasing innovativeness and competitiveness of agricultural production.

Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA) is a strategic partner for innovation located in Andalusia, Spain. It helps companies, universities, public administrations and other organisations to successfully achieve their R&D objectives and to valorise the results. Founded in 2005 with the support of the Andalusian Regional Government, CTA is a private foundation working to promote innovation with more than 170 member companies. CTA has established itself as a reference partner in numerous European projects, participating in various initiatives such as the H2020 Programme, Cosme, Interreg, ERANET and CIP. The Impact and Innovation HUB of the American Farm School (AFS), since its establishment, has been involved in a multitude of activities and projects in the agri-food sector that revolve around digital technologies adoption, sustainable agricultural practices, professional education, social impact and the formation of farmer networks and working groups for the modernization and sustainable development of the sector. The HUB operates within the wider operational framework of the AFS. The holistic approach and overall practical role of the institute is met through the operation of the two 145-hectare demonstration farms which are considered as “its living laboratory”
