On 5th-7th November 2024, a team from the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute participated in the 4th Annual Conference on Polish EIP Operational Groups in Łódź, Poland, organised by the Innovation Network in Agriculture and Rural Areas (SIR).

The aim of the conference was to establish contacts and facilitate cooperation between Polish operational groups (OGs), and enable the exchange of experiences in developing and implementing innovative solutions in agricultural production, processing and distribution of agri-food products. The added value of the meeting was also the dissemination of the projects results presented by the OGs.

Dr Monika Kowalik from the Department of Science Communication, IUNG, had the opportunity to present the activities of the Institute as one of the research centres supervised by the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development – including current projects implemented by our team and the cooperation offer for the summit participants.

Prof. Janusz Podleśny, from the Department of Crops and Yield Quality, IUNG, presented the results achieved by the project ‘Improvement of plant protein raw material production technology by application of a preparation improving biological fixation of atmospheric nitrogen’, acronym: BIOBIAŁKO, realised by the Innovative Agricultural Technologies (ITR) Operational Group.

Dr hab. Magdalena Borzęcka from the Department of Geomatics, IUNG, was looking for cooperation opportunities within the BBioNets project and new members of the FAN thematic network which develops and promotes results achieved through the work of the EIP-AGRI Operational Groups in the management and/or processing of agricultural and forest biomass using bio-based technologies (BBTs).

The event was attended by representatives of operational groups, innovation brokers and other people interested in multi-stakeholder partnerships. It was a very good opportunity to share our experiences and make new contacts.
