The BBioNets project successfully held its second Info-day on 12 September 2025, within the framework of the 89th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). The event, which ran from 16:00 to 22:00, leveraged the large audience of one of Greece’s premier national exhibitions.

The Info-day, organised by the American Farm School (AFS), aimed to disseminate information about the opportunities provided by Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs) for reducing the carbon footprint in agriculture and forestry.

The TIF’s 89th edition focused significantly on energy and the circular economy, creating an ideal environment for engaging with BBioNets’ target groups. The project was strategically hosted within the space of DigiAgriFood, a European Digital Innovation Hub in which AFS participates. The Hub, which supports the digital and green transformation of the agri-food value chain, offers services such as carbon footprint measurement—a direct link to one of BBioNets’ core messages.

Project representatives held personal discussions with 27 visitors throughout the event’s duration. The engagement process began with a concise presentation of BBioNets’ objectives and the tools it employs to disseminate accumulated knowledge. This was followed by a brief dialogue on how BBTs could benefit each interlocutor individually.

Discussions focused primarily on the significance of BBTs and how BBioNets can facilitate familiarity with these innovations. In a key element of the dissemination effort, educational and training material produced by the project and translated into Greek was distributed to participants. This material served as a practical reference point during the discussions.

Furthermore, a topic of particular relevance to the Greek audience was highlighted: Operational Groups. With an ongoing call for proposals to fund the establishment of these groups in Greece, the BBioNets representatives provided information on their objectives, activities, and opportunities for participation.

BBioNets’ presence at the largest national exhibition significantly enhanced its visibility. Participants recognised the initiative as a reliable source for the dissemination of bio-based innovations and expressed strong interest in seeking further information through the project’s digital channels.
